Wurruk Residence
Grounded in nature
Perched on the edge of a serene waterway in rural Gippsland, this contemporary five-bedroom home—designed in collaboration with Winter Architecture—responds to its striking natural setting with openness and calm.
Framed by sweeping views available from nearly every room, the home is oriented around indoor-outdoor living, with a generous alfresco area, pool, and courtyard designed for year-round use.
The interiors draw directly from the Gippsland landscape, with a palette of burnt ochre, eucalyptus green, and sun-bleached neutrals drawing on the local landscape and creating a warm, grounded aesthetic.
Natural materials such as timber, stone, and textured concrete are used throughout to evoke a sense of permanence and place. Designed for modern family life, the layout balances communal gathering spaces with private, flexible zones, including a snug off the main suite and a robust mudroom.
This project is currently under development and continues to evolve in close collaboration with the client.
